Description: A statement by an Artist may take many forms and communicate in various ways to his or her audience. But generally speaking, it is an act of "naming" or articulating an idea or experience. The act of "naming" can be limiting if the definition becomes calcified and is taken as describing the totality of experience. At best, we each have a working map of reality which never fully describes reality itself, but is open to constant revision. In a sense my work is a non-verbal "naming", an ongoing effort to articulate the intensity and complexity of experience.
The intent of Parallax was to allow an interaction between art and audience, allowing space to step inside thereby creating immediate intimacy between body and space. Once inside the piece provides an opportunity to explore from all perspectives, becoming both an observer and participant within the work.
